THOUGHTS ON THIS PAST WEEK’S FOOD:

I’m pretty proud of how many vegetables we used up this week, and I’m very happy I was able to put the stew and the pesto in the freezer for later. Come winter, a taste of summer will help get us through the dark days and cold.I hope you all had another great week filled with great food!

I had never made Vichyssoise before, but I figured that if anyone would have a great recipe, it would be Anthony Bourdain. It was great. It’s not something I would eat on a regular basis because it was so rich,(even using half cream and half milk) but I would definitely make it again. Madeline loved it the first time she had it and thought it was the worst thing in the world the second time. Toddlers are weird.

I wish I had known before this week how amazing salami and cantaloupe taste together. It makes sense because I’ve had it with prosciutto, but salami is cheaper and almost as good.

If you haven’t had burrata yet, stop what you’re doing and head to Trader Joes. There is no better way to eat tomatoes. None.

Anchovy Chicken made another week’s menu. My husband told me that this is his favorite way to eat chicken besides fried chicken. That is very high praise.

I hope you all had another great week filled with great food!
