THOUGHTS ON THIS PAST WEEK’S FOOD:

I really enjoyed the swiss chard salad. I normally use leaves that big in cooked dishes, but they were pretty tasty in this salad with the tough ribs stripped out.

The Splayed Roast Chicken With Caramelized Scallions & Turnip Greens was fantastic. The recipe calls for ramps with their greens, but that’s obviously not seasonal. I used green onions with turnip greens.

I am a beet avoider. It needs to stop.

I really love okra. I hate it stewed, but it’s fantastic in soups and stews and absolutely delicious when fried. I think my favorite way to eat it now is either roasted or grilled. You need to make sure the edges get nice and brown, and I use quite a bit of seasoning on it. My daughter is NOT a fan.

I hope you all had another great week filled with great food!
