THOUGHTS ON THIS PAST WEEK’S FOOD:
I’m helping my friend for city council, so things have been very hectic at our house. My husband had a great thing happen at work, so Wednesday was a celebratory meal. Surf and turf is usually not in our usual dinner repertoire.

Shakshuka is one of my favorite catch-all meals. It’s normally based on tomatoes, but I needed to use up greens and some green bell peppers. I sauteed peppers and onions. I had some harissa, so a spoonful of that went in. Then I added diced chard stems. I added a little water, and braised everything for a few minutes. Then all the chopped up greens went in along with some cilantro. Then I cracked open some eggs, added them to the pan, covered it and cooked them for 6 minutes. I like runny eggs, so cook them longer if you don’t.

I could eat my weight in baba ganoush. I’d rather have that then hummus. Madeline feels the same way, so it disappeared very quickly.

I hope you all had another great week filled with great food!

Kristina

“The care of the Earth is our most ancient and most worthy, and after all most pleasing responsibility. To cherish what remains of it and to foster its renewal is
our only hope.”
